L'Association le Moulin (more commonly called les Productions le Moulin, or
simply le Moulin) was formed in early 2005. The mandate of this organization is
to present a wide range of concerts by professional artists in Clare, a French
Acadian region in Southwestern Nova Scotia. Le Conseil des arts de la Baie
initially helped in the launching and promotion of the project. The founder and
Artistic Director is Paul-Emile Comeau and a few committee members, namely
Yvon Comeau and Lee Comeau (no relation between the three), are still active
with le Moulin after all these years.

Since its beginnings le Moulin has presented a variety of excellent artists from
Canada and beyond. These have included artists from Africa, Ireland, Australia,
France, Cajun and zydeco artists from Louisiana, authentic blues artists from the
U.S., traditional artists from Québec and Cape Breton, the best Acadian singer-
songwriters and bands, some all-ages shows, circus-type performers, several
original one man or one-woman music or theatrical shows, acclaimed
storytellers, some of the best singer-songwriters in Canada, acclaimed jazz
pianists, Grammy-winning bluegrass bands, and more. Many of these concerts
have attracted patrons from well beyond the community of Clare.
Over the years le Moulin has won several awards, including the Atlantic
Presenters Association's Presenter of the Year award in 2011 and an Éloize in
2014 (Soutien à la production artistique). Paul-Emile Comeau, our founder and
Artistic Director, has been honoured several times for his work with this project.
As a presenting organization le Moulin is considered nearly unique for a rural
area. |
