Zogma is a professional percussive dance company that has been performing on the national and international scenes since 2001. The company proposes a contemporary approach and a new aesthetic of Québec's folklore, merging dance, music and song into powerful, rhythmic works. The Sokalo Remix Project is a transatlantic dance and music collaboration between Zogma and several professional artists from Ireland. The production is a rhythmic journey both through the streets of Montreal and the landscape of the west of Ireland, highlighting the proximity of Irish and Québécois traditional cultures while proposing a new vision of folklore that merges both tradition and contemporary life.

Des éloges pour Zogma/High praise for Zogma:

"What a performance...was blown away by it...never seen anything like it!" -review from Castlebar, Ireland

"An amazing show last night. I wanted to watch it all again the second it finished...Such a pleasing combination of interesting rhythms and whole body movement - a feast for the senses. Highly recommended! -review from Limerick, Ireland

"Hearing the music of both cultures was like listening to two dialects of the same language, each possessing its own unmistakable draw and nuances, and both blending harmoniously together. The dance collaboration introduced me to an entirely new approach to folk dance, with one foot tapping in the past and the other foot stepping into the future. It was a fascinating dance dialogue which enriched my understanding of both traditions." -Tristan Rosenstock, Presenter, TG4 (Irish television network)

"Honestly, I tip my hat to an impressive group of talented artists led masterfully. It’s an original, powerful and festive production. Many thanks to all performers and creators for this exceptional evening." -René Fréchette, former general director, Mondial des cultures (a festival of world cultures).

"A rhythmic journey both through the streets of Montreal and the landscape of the west of Ireland." -Quebec Culture, UK
