En donnant des spectacles qui sont à la fois très visuels et drôles, Sheesham, Lotus & 'Son évoquent l'époque de vaudeville et des juke joints du sud des États-Unis. Vers les débuts du 20e siècle les musiciens des Appalaches se sont réunis avec les bluesmen du Mississippi. Ensemble, ils jouaient une musique qui deviendra la source de plusieurs genres tels que le country, le bluegrass, le blues, le jazz, le rock'n'roll, et le folk. Sheesham & Lotus & 'Son sont des musiciens très habiles et aux talents variés. Le choix d'instruments (dont certains sont insolites) et le répertoire attrayant assurent que leurs spectacles sont uniques et fort amusants.

Sheesham, Lotus & 'Son performances, whose shows are visually compelling as well as humorous, have their roots in vaudeville and the juke joints of the American South. In the early 20th century Appalachian musicians and Mississippi bluesmen got together and made music that became the roots of country, bluegrass, blues, jazz, rock 'n' roll, and the 60s folk revival. Sheesham & Lotus & 'Son are skillful and versatile musicians who play vintage (and occasionally unusual) instruments, and draw from a timeless repertoire, which make their performances unique and highly entertaining!

The following two videos were filmed a few days ago at the Shetland Folk Festival. Please remember that the sound quality is poor, as is often the case with videos of live performances, but they offer a glimpse at the spirited energy that the trio generates in a live setting.
