Bon Débarras joue une musique festive et variée. Le groupe comprend un contrebassiste et bassiste, un multi-instrumentiste, chorégraphe et danseur, et un multi-instrumentiste et homme-orchestre qui a joué avec la Bottine Souriante. Chaque membre du trio est chanteur et l’instrumentation comprend les instruments suivants: guitare, banjo, mandoline, accordéon, planche à laver, kora, ukulélé, quelques instruments de percussion, et harmonica.
De façon générale nous évitons d’utiliser You Tube comme instrument de promotion. Bon Débarras at Evelina’s in Little Brook
When: Sunday, January 18 (7:30 to 9:30)

The trio Bon Débarras plays an energetic and varied brand of folk. The group consists of a bassist who also plays double-bass, a multi-instrumentalist who is also a choreographer and dancer, and another multi-instrumentalist and one-man band who has played with La Bottine Souriante. Each member of the band sings and the instrumentation includes the following: guitar, banjo, mandolin, accordion, washboard, kora, ukulele, several percussion instruments, and harmonica.
When Bon Débarras, which translates as Good Riddance, did an acclaimed 18-city tour of England in November, the group’s photo appeared on the covers of several publications in the U.K. On this short tour the trio will be performing at the most prestigious venues in N.B. (Fredericton, Moncton, and St. John), and will end their tour in Clare, their only appearance in Nova Scotia.
We don’t usually like to use You Tube as a promotional device because the videos seldom do the artists justice. Nonetheless, the first video on the home page of the band’s Web site (http://www.bondebarras.ca/en/index.html) will give you an idea of what to expect: «Bon Débarras en lancement» (4:37).
